Up in the Air
For a decade and a half Up in the Air has been leading the way in contemporary a cappella music in the midwest. Founded in 1995, This group’s complex one-on-a-part arrangements and exciting one-on-a-mic performances have earned them a reputation around the country as leaders in a cappella. Former members of Up in the Air have gone on to sing with acclaimed professional vocal groups and establish successful solo careers. Up in the Air performs 50-70 shows each year on the road, with an eclectic repertoire of a cappella pop, soul, jazz, funk, r&b, rock and world music. The group has appeared before hundreds of audiences throughout the U.S. and Europe, and has recorded four CDs. Up in the Air is directed by Brad Rees, who serves as the group’s principal arranger.
